About Ms. Davie
"CHILDREN ARE": I am certain we can continue this sentence with bountiful words from A to Z to describe these beautiful, little people. Thankfully, my job is to see all of those adjectives come to life in my child care. Hi, my name is Davie and I am a Christian, a wife and mother of 2. I have been living in Anne Arundel County, Maryland for over 20 years. I delight in being around and working with children and seeing their transformation from babies to big kids. I understand how busy and pressured families can become and I am here to relieve some of that stress. I come from a family of eleven so I am quite at home with lots of kids and noise. I am licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), registration number 251686 and a member of Anne Arundel County Family Child Care Association (AACFCCA). I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology/Respiratory Therapy. I am CPR/First Aid certified and have completed SIDS training. I have been a Respiratory Therapist for over 20 years and work prn at a local hospital. I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, Bible study, hanging out with my family and of course spending time with children.
Child Care Philosophy
Children are a special gift from God. "God blessed them (Adam and Eve) and said to them, be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it..." Genesis 1:28. At Ms. Davie's Family Child Care, we provide a Christian-based curriculum where children experience a loving, safe, educational and enriching environment, to learn, grow, explore and be the individual who God created them to be. How children feel about themselves and how they perceive the world around them, will have a deep impact upon the way the meet and deal with challenges and experience life in the future. We work on having strong partnerships with parents and guardians to help build good, solid framework within each child, so they may reach their fullest potential as a child and throughout adulthood. We strive to make God the center of each child's life; to develop a good self-concept, to learn more about themselves and the world and to express their feelings in an appropriate way and to respect others and make friends while enjoying life. Children learn through play, therefore, we provide a variety of experiences to expand their cognitive, physical, social/emotional and language abilities.
